Our Approach
Janelle Burns’ journey into interior design began during her time at Cal State Long Beach, where she pursued a degree in fashion and textiles. While taking design communications courses, her natural talent for interiors became clear. With encouragement from her professors, she gained acceptance into UCLA's Interior Architecture & Design graduate program. Her studies refined her creative eye and gave her a solid industry foundation. She went on to work at a prominent architecture firm, where the projects she worked on as a lead designer won many awards and were recognized in multiple publications. During this time, she gained extensive industry experience and honed her skills in custom fabrication and comprehensive project management.
As the founder of Janelle Burns Interiors, Janelle embraces a client-centered approach, ensuring that every design is intentional and tailored to her clients’ individual needs and tastes. Inspired by culture, art & nature, her designs blend timeless elegance with a relaxed, approachable aesthetic. Outside of work, Janelle enjoys hiking, antiquing, and creating mixed media art, all of which inform her design philosophy and creative inspiration.
